What is CBD?
CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring cannabinoid. CBD oil is derived from hemp/ cannabis plant.
There are cannabinoids that are produced both in the body and the hemp plant.
The human body has an endocannabinoid system – a network of cannabinoids receptors that react with the cannabinoid found in CBD.
The endocannabinoid system in the human body is responsible for regulating our sleep, mood, eating and immune functions – to name a few.
CBD is the non-psychotropic compound found in the cannabis plant. That’s what makes CBD very attractive to those looking to find a natural ‘green rush’, from the daily stressors of life.
How is CBD made and how does it work?
CBD is one of the many compounds found within the cannabis plant. The CBD compound is extracted from the leaves and flowers of the hemp plant and then mixed with a variety of carrier oils.
Taking CBD works when the cannabinoid within the CBD meets with the endocannabinoid receptors in the human body interacting with the different neurotransmitters in the body.
Everybody is different as such each person may start to notice the effects of their CBD intake at different times.
We recommend when starting your CBD journey you start off slow and then modify your servings as you begin to understand its effects within your body. Take care to listen to your body as it often speaks to us especially when seeking relief. As the body can build up a tolerance for CBD in such cases please hit the pause button, relax and reset for a while.
