Even with the CBD industry booming, there are still many misconceptions about CBD. Here at MySerene, to dispel the common CBD misconceptions we have decided to provide clear answers for all your CBD myths.

1. It’s illegal

CBD isolate (i.e., CBD in its pure form) is not considered a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (the ‘MoDA’) and is perfectly legal for a business to sell pure CBD-products.

2. It makes you high

CBD is a non-psychoactive compound and so cannot get you ‘high’. CBD may alter your mood, but the effects are not “high-inducing.”

CBD lacks addictive properties and euphoric effects that can be found within THC.

3. It takes time to work

Like most supplements or oils, the effects and timeframe for CBD products to work its way into your system is dependent on both the individual and the method of consumption.

4. It’s against my religion

CBD does not discriminate. There are a lot of CBD products that are not only organic and vegan, but are also Kosher, Halal and Gluten Free.

Check out all product ingredients before deciding on the best CBD product for you.

5. It doesn’t matter where it comes from

As with all products we put into our bodies, you should care where your CBD is sourced. It’s important to do your research before you buy after all your body is a temple.
